May 26, 2021 | Fort Collins, Colorado
  • De Bever joins NITROcrete after two decades of industry leadership, most recently as CEO of Standard Precast, recently acquired by CRH, one of the largest materials companies in the world.
  • Nelson remains actively engaged in NITROcrete’s daily innovation as Executive Chairman and Founder.

As Drew Nelson transitions to a new role as Executive Chairman, NITROcrete welcomes Stephen De Bever as its new Chief Executive Officer.

De Bever joins NITROcrete after two decades of executive management experience in the construction and concrete industry. Most recently, De Bever served as Chief Executive Officer of Standard Precast and Chief Operating Officer of Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping.

“This addition expands our leadership team’s capacity to meet ever-growing customer demand for our NITROcrete technology—both with Stephen’s proven record for scalability and with our commitment to ongoing entrepreneurship,” said Nelson.

In his new position as Executive Chairman, Nelson continues stewarding the daily work of innovation that happens at NITROcrete. As a Founder of NITROcrete, Nelson oversaw the development of NITROcrete’s concrete liquid nitrogen technology. NITROcrete saw 250% growth in its first two years and began expanding into global markets in 2020.

“This growth trend evidences the industry’s desire for concrete innovation. NITROcrete is excited to continue growing what we offer our customers. Stephen brings extensive global concrete experience from his leadership roles with Standard Precast, Brundage-Bone, Aggregate Industries, among many other highly successful expansions,” Nelson said.

With NITROcrete, De Bever sees a familiar potential in its technology and team.

“NITROcrete’s innovative technology addresses the concrete industry’s need for improved quality, efficiency, and safety. We have a dynamic team coupled with leading-edge solutions; with this, NITROcrete has positioned itself well for highly accelerated domestic and international growth. This talent is also supported by strong financial partners to back up NITROcrete’s ambitious goals for expanding its capacity to keep concrete workers around the world safer and more productive,” said De Bever.

In his previous executive leadership roles, De Bever oversaw staggering growth. In his time with Brundage-Bone, De Bever oversaw management and integration of domestic and international acquisitions that delivered significant revenue growth. He also enhanced the sales strategies, geographic expansion, and operational efficiency during his most recent position at Standard Precast, which was acquired by CRH, one of the largest global materials companies.

De Bever also joins the NITROcrete Board of Directors as a member along with current members Bill Sandbrook, former CEO of US Concrete, Kevin Foti former President of Praxair U.S., Brian Mankwitz of Mantucket Capital, as well as Kathleen Walton of NITROcrete and Drew Nelson as Board Chairman.
